COLLEGE ESSAYS THAT REFLECT WHO YOU ARE — AND WHO YOU'RE BECOMING.

Authentic insight. Clear strategy. Essays that land.

Applying to college isn’t just a checklist or an acceptance letter.

It’s a threshold moment.

For many students, this is the first time you’re asked to explain yourself — your experiences, your growth, your story — on the page.

That can feel stressful. Vulnerable. Even overwhelming.

At Open Page Studios, I believe college essays are not marketing documents.
They are reflections of identity.

As both a college essay coach and mental health counselor, I approach this work with compassion, curiosity, and deep respect for each student’s lived experience — while also bringing a clear understanding of what admissions readers are looking for.

I don’t chase shock value.
I don’t manufacture hardship.

Instead, we slow down. We reflect. We make meaning — and then we translate that insight into writing that is thoughtful, structured, and compelling.

Together, we craft an essay that reflects who you are, what you value, where you’ve been, and who you are becoming — with honesty, depth, and clarity.

Because the essays that truly stand out aren’t the loudest ones.
They’re the ones that feel real — and resonate long after they’re read.

WHAT I OFFER

Tailored Coaching

Personalized, start-to-finish guidance for crafting authentic, meaningful essays and navigating the college application process with clarity and confidence.

Coaching

Personalized Guidance

This is more than editing. In our one-on-one work, we explore your experiences with care. Together, we uncover the meaning behind the moments that shaped you and translate that reflection into writing that feels memorable, grounded, and distinctly yours. Your essays won’t sound rehearsed. They will sound real.

Finding the Fit

Build Your College List

Choosing where to apply isn’t just about rankings — it’s about alignment. Together, we build a thoughtful, balanced college list based on academic goals, personal values, areas of interest, and the kind of environment where you will thrive. We consider selectivity, yes — but also culture, community, support systems, and long-term fit. The result is a strategic, well-balanced list that reflects your strengths and goals and positions you thoughtfully for what comes next.

Feedback

Insightful Reviews

Thoughtful, constructive feedback that strengthens your essays without erasing your voice. I highlight what’s working, identify areas for growth, and help you deepen your reflection so you deliver a cohesive, powerful, and standout application.

This process is also designed to help you grow as a writer.  You won’t just receive edits. You’ll learn the practical writing strategies, essay development techniques, and reflective skills that make strong writing possible, tools you can carry with you into college and beyond.

Consultation

Initial Assessment

Every student’s story is different. In our initial consultation, we discuss your goals, academic plans, and any challenges around the writing process. We will talk through timelines, expectations, what admissions readers are looking for, and how to approach this season in a way that feels steady, not overwhelming.  From there, we build a personalized plan that supports your timeline, well-being, and aspirations. The goal is to reduce application stress at home and bring clarity, structure, and steadiness to the process.

Dawn, Parent

"Abby saved our family. Not to be dramatic, but the college essay process had become incredibly stressful for our daughter and for us as parents.

Our daughter tried several other resources, including a college coaching benefit through my company and several online tools. Nothing was getting her to the finish line….until Abby stepped in.

Abby’s patience and genuine care were exactly what our daughter needed. She listened attentively, helped her focus her personal story, and guided her toward a strong direction.

Our daughter was able to lock in and actually became excited about the story she was telling.
Abby also has outstanding English, grammar, and writing skills, so her approach combines warmth and empathy with technical expertise. Our daughter applied to 11 schools and has already been accepted to 8 while waiting to hear from the others. Because she applied test-optional, the essay carried significant weight — and Abby helped her submit an essay that truly represented her."
